How did I get here?

My love for fitness began with a barbell.

I'd been going to the gym for a long time and had never felt confident with my appearance or physical health. I dragged myself to the gym half-heartedly doing exercises I didn't enjoy. I was miserable, seeing no progress and I had no idea how to best use exercise to build strength in a way I enjoyed.

It was just as I was ready to quit that I was approached by a personal trainer who showed me I had some options. He encouraged me to try new exercises and equipment, building my confidence and motivating me to put the work in to better myself.

Now, as a competitive powerlifter, I've truly found my passion. My confidence is soaring and it's become my goal to help as many people as I can to reach their goals, whether it's strength, endurance or physique related.

With that in mind, I set off to begin my journey of becoming a personal trainer. After months of learning, perfecting and being assessed in my ability not only to perform, but also to teach, program and lead, I began working for a local gym and loved it!

I've been working for Pure Gym for a few months now and find the experiences I'm gaining invaluable. As well as being self-employed, I work as an employee of the gym. This entails teaching group exercise (up to 25 people per class) 3 days a week, fitness inductions and general helpfulness within the gym.

I've met some wonderful people, clients have become friends, and there's just something very satisfying about helping others to reach their goals.
